The Vision Producers Lab is an intensive project based program for producers designed to support producers with projects at different stages from development to distribution.

Lab Objectives
The Vision producing lab is designed to allow space for producers and their projects to develop in a supportive but challenging environment and for them to broaden their industry contacts and awareness.
Who Should Attend
Producers with a feature film project. Application requires submission of a treatment of the project, C.V. and a statement of intent explaining the producers’ perspective on the project and what they believe they will gain by participating in the lab.
Lab Overview
The Vision Producer Lab takes place in London once a year. Vision also runs the producing lab outside of the UK for international clients. The Labs are delivered in three interconnected week long stages that can be taken individually or collectively, spread over six months, with project based sessions, industry seminars and guest speakers. During the lab participants will:
Module One – Development
- Project specific Development Meetings
- Development Finance
- Development, Writers and Option Agreements
- How to work effectively with Writers
- Development Plan
- Project Outline
- Industry Guests
The participants will leave the Lab with a Development Plan and Project Outline.
Module Two – Film Finance
- Project specific Finance Meetings
- Current Feature Film Finance
- Financing Agreements
- Co-production
- Project Business Plans
- Packaging
- Pitching
- Finance Plan
- Waterfall/Recoupment Schedule
- Industry Guests
The participants will leave the Lab with a Finance Plan.
Module Three – Sales and Distribution
- Project specific Sales, Marketing and Distribution Meetings
- What to look for and how to get a Sales Agent
- What to look for and how to get a Distributor
- Sales Agent and Distributor Agreements
- Pitching to Sales Agents and Distributors
- Collection Agents
- Marketing Plan
- New Models of Distribution
- Markets and Festival Strategy
- Industry Guests
The participants will leave the Lab with a Marketing Plan.
When the projects are produced Vision requires ‘Developed with the assistance of Vision Pictures’ and the Vision Pictures Logo to appear at end of closing credits.
Tutors Biography
The program is supervised by Rebecca Knapp with components being overseen by a range of Vision facilitators and complemented with visits from industry guests. Rebecca Knapp is a BAFTA nominated and award-winning film and television producer, who has lecturing in film and television production for the past seven years.
