              This course will teach you how to put together an international feature film co-production, whilst avoiding pitfalls.

              Anyone who is thinking of producing a feature film (both documentary and drama) and wants to look at raising international finance.


              Workshop Overview

              In today ever more competitive film financing market producers need to look beyond their borders for co-producing partners and the finance they bring. It is a good time for UK producers to look beyond their national borders for co-producing partners and the financial, logistical and cultural assets they bring. This course is designed to guide you through the process.

              • Identifying suitable co-producing countries
              • Current co-production treaties with the UK
              • International Film Finance – Tax incentives and more
              • How to attracting an appropriate co-production partner – creative/financial
              • How to maintain this relationship
              • Co-production markets, film festivals and markets
              • Co-production agreements
              • Managing the paperwork and bureaucracy
              • Structuring the finance for your project
              • How to keep your films artistic integrity whilst still attracting international film finance
              • How to make films that work in the global marketplace

              A CD-Rom will be given to each student with handouts including sample co-production agreements, guides to International Film Finance and Finance Plans.
