              Workshop Objectives

              This workshop will give a comprehensive overview of the essential techniques needed to write a feature film. Screenwriting Base is excellent preparation for the Vision Screenwriting Lab.

              Who Should Attend

              Anyone who is thinking of writing a feature film.

              Workshop Overview

              Screenwriter Base Evening takes place over 10 evenings. In addition to writing exercises participants will develop a project treatment.

              Evening by evening:

              1. Outlining: Beat Sheets, Log Lines, Synopsis and Treatments.
              2. Character.
              3. Basic Structure: Acts, Scenes and Sequences.
              4. Deep Structure: Strands of Narrative and Transitions.
              5. Plot and Theme.
              6. Project Structure Workshop.
              7. Words and Pictures: Writing for a Visual Medium.
              8. Dialogue
              9. Screenwriting and the Industry.
              10. Project Pitching Workshop

              Tutors Biography

              David Pope is an award winning feature film writer director who has worked with filmmakers internationally as a mentor, teacher and consultant. David has worked filmmakers on prestigious programs such as the writer director residents of Cannes Cinefondation and the producers in the Cinemart Rotterdam Lab.
